There was a lot of talent to take in at the Ottawa Wedding Show. Standouts from local cake and floral designers and planner design concepts delivered wedding inspiration for stylish brides . Whether you were looking for vintage-inspired rustic elegance or modern sophistication, you could find inspiration to reflect your unique personal style.
I will start with one of my favorite booths. This beautiful floral installation by Erin Carmichael of Full Bloom Floral Design was reminiscent of a romantic California summer vineyard wedding. I love the sophisticated blend of both modern and rustic elements here -so romantic!

Food was fun. The Flour Shoppe, Urban Baking Co. and KoKo Chocolates showcased lovely wedding favors and styled food tables that coordinated colour themed or complimentary foods together into a comprehensive and styled dessert or convection table. I think we can officially say bye bye to the candy bar and hello to the styled food table that includes a variety of treats from cupcakes to cake pops to tarts, popcorn and even cake!

Colour trends were fresh. From natural fresh whites to jewel tones and the snappy Pantone colour for 2012 – Tangerine made an appearance with neutrals and accented with purples and pinks.

Tulips and Maple used sugared fruit in a creative presentation

I also could not resist the orange style trend and snuck it in with pillows and florals from Full Bloom.
Dress style trends were sophisticated with wedding dresses showing intricate yet subtle detail on the shorter trains, whether in layers of horsehair tulle, stunning french lace or billows of silk , dresses were appearing in both mermaid and trumpet styles followed by ball gown styles with pockets.

Wedding planners showcased beautiful event designs in a range of styles. Some were classic and traditional, vintage-inspired and others were a blend of modern elegance.

Among my favorites are the cake designers. Wedding Cakes were eclectic and classic with cake designers showcasing their specialties and individual styles.

I was astonished by this last cake. It was truly stunning- the sugar flowers cascading dramatically on this cake were perfection!
I hope you enjoyed a peek into the Ottawa Wedding Show for 2012 and I hope you found lots of wedding style inspiration as you plan your 2012 and 2013 weddings. It was a pleasure to meet many of you! Happy planning!
